After a sudden attack the enemy drove your Kingdom to the brink of destruction.

The king is always the most protected piece, but now no one is left standing.
The roles are reversed, now you, the King needs to protect your people and repel the intruders.

Beat all enemie pieces before they reach the end of the board.

Chess player here. Very cool concept and I actually combusted with joy when I finished the game with the legendary 64 moves (probably a bad score but the number's nice)

I think one thing that would add more depth, and also strengthen the theme, would be to add other chess pieces to the player that are only able to making non-attacking moves each turn along with your king. The new goal would be to protect all your other pieces, which could start as a an extra piece or two, and expand to more pieces. This would add a lot more depth and variation in challenges you could provide. You could even have two kings to protect all the piece you have, and now you have 2 units to divide your movement cards between. Just some ideas.

(i agree on them)

also maybe a pvp where both of you get a level and you need to get it in less moves

Congrats on making top 20 in the GMTK Jam! I wanted to reach out to ask if anyone on the dev team would be interested in participating in an interview about your experience during the jam? Interviews are conducted over Discord and presented live on Twitch.

That's an awesome idea and how could you find time to even make a cut scene, incredible!

This is so well done, I love chess and it blew my mind how well-thought out this is. Great work on the mechanics for this one.

(+1)

It was well thought out as i thought the game would be boring but the movement abilities made it really interesting.

this is really unbelievably good. so well put together, the powerups are fantastic and the puzzles are great. how you do this so fast D:

(+1)

We where actualy 2 people working on it. After setting up the systems, creating levels was fast. (And i didnt really sleep the last 2 days :D )

You have a very good partnership there, congrats on the game!
